UARA Cylinder Head Gauges

The UARA has developed these tools to make the local post race tech more affordable for the racer by not having to remove the heads after every event.

This tool is a work in progress to ensure the quality of tech.

As all cylinder heads are a casting there is a tolerance therefore the Tech personal needs to use a little common sense.

The tolerance the UARA uses is around .010 on the exhaust we have had heads that the gauge will go through one hole and not the rest this is a result of castings

If the gauge goes in the port far enough to hit the valve stem the cylinder head is probably wrong and may need to be removed for further inspection

Keep in mind that as heads are rebuilt the guides may be replaced thus changing this dimension a minor amount.

An example of the tool is like a speed limit if the speed limit is 50 and you are running 53-54 chances are you are ok but if the speed is 65 or 70 you are probably wrong or need further inspection

The gauges are 3 per set - one for the intake, exhaust and the floor of the intake runner
